First meeting

"spanish was to boreing, try chinese... or japanese...." i said with an absent voice, scanning pages quickly and easily

"Yeah, but in my area, there was more need for people who spoke english and spanish than chinese or japanese. Plus it was the only language class my mom didn't nag at me for having."

"see, spanish is a good one to know, but japanese and chinese are the secondary buisness languages in the world..." i said with a sigh "my parents werent around much when they WERE here, so i didnt get much feedback on mine"

"Like i'd ever do business in my lifetime," I said, blowing some hair away from my face.

"you never know, its helped me in many jobs..." i said with a light smile, knowing how she felt

"Lucky then, if youve found it useful. Like I said, really rare the chance id get to use it."

"with the job i have, if we both get it, youll use it daily..." i said with a light smile of understanding this time and laughed "and now we wait... the program is running now..." i said getting up and walking to the kitchen

"...it'll translate by itself?"

"see, what it does is it scans the page for the symbols and compares them to the translations you gave me... after it does that, it puts them in the correct order that you told me in the notes, and it then prints off a page that is translated... so yes, it does..." i said rather proudly

"Thank god...There were so many documents to translate I thought I would end up dying here..."

"well, two heads are better than one... it says there is about 13 hours on it... since we have nothing to do for awhile, what do you want to do? watch TV?"

"It wont blow up into a fantastically terrifying display of sparks, right?" I asked nervously.

"listen, if anything were to burst into sparks, or flames, i have no doubt in my mind id jump in the way of them... after you were safe, id then go fix the problem..." i said with a light smile, sitting down next to her "besides, all my jobs are rock solid... if i had ANY hesitations on it, that it MIGHT malfunction in ANY way, i wouldnt have put it back till it was fixed..." i said with a sigh

"...Im not getting near it, those things like to malfunction when I get near them, no matter how rock solid the handiwork was..." I mumbled, pouting. "You turn it on."

"if i do, whats in it for me?" i asked with a teasing glance at her, already standing up to turn it on

"You decide," I shrugged, doubting he'd pick something extreme.

"then you snuggle me on the couch even if Jane sees us..." i said with a light chuckle, turning on the TV

"...Youre joking, right?" I asked, surprised. That sounded kind of mean, since she had been forced into the awkward third friend position, and well...that was mean. But I did let him pick...

"about the snuggling yes, when jane sees us, up to you..." i said with a sigh of mock sadness, trying not to be mean even though i wanted to push the point

"...I dont feel like snuggling," I muttered, mildly embarrassed. "I might later, but not now..."

"okay..." i said with a weak smile, slightly disappointed, but understood that she didnt have to do anything

"...Sheesh, dont make me feel bad..." I said, getting myself comfy on the couch.

"wasnt trying to! im just a little disappointed is all, but i totally understand why! i overstepped a boundry!" i said with a nervous laugh as i took my seat a little ways from her, my face red

"Dude, we've been dancing all over the poor boundary," I said, giving him a really-now-you-havent-noticed? stare before continuing, "Anyways, its not that, im just not in the mood. Besides we cant snuggle all the time. Tomato face."

"hey, no need to get defensive, all i did is say sorry... besides, all i did was offfer warmth at night, feel free to go back upstairs and freeze... everything else, as far as i can remember, was done by you to make me tomato faced..." i said with a sigh, not wanting to get into a fight with her
