First meeting

"...Good morning..."

".... morning... and... sorry..." she said simply, looking off to the side at me as she stood still, and i handed her a coffee silently before saying "Jane, we need to have a talk..." i said simply, pushing her gently into the other room

I nodded, silently accepting her apology, ignoring them leaving the area. None of my business.

".... no more fighting over me, ive made my choice... the reason she isnt showing me anything in the way of romance was because she didnt want you to get mad at her, and because she was trying to focus on work first to get out of here... now, againt my better judgement, im going to give you the option to still be a friend, but i dont want any fighting between you about me.... alright?" i asked, and she sighed sadly nodding, and i nodded in approval "good, now, lets go back to the kitchen..." i said with a yawn, waundering tiredly back

I glanced at them as they came back, still focusing my attention to the pancakes.

".... so, favorite TV shows..." i said with a light smile

"...Spongebob..." I answered, mildly embarrassed.

"Doctor Who..." i said with a yawn, and Jane spoke up after a moment "i like both of them, on account of david tennant, and patrick..." she said, and i nodded "10 and 11 are my favorites, 9 did pretty good"

"One of my friends only spoke of the 9th doctor. I never got around to watching that show..."

"well, i have the collectors set with all the episodes from one to eleven, so, if you want, we could all watch them at my house... we could make it a movie night friday or something...." i said with a hand on my neck, feeling slightly nervous about saying it aloud

I thought for a second. "...I guess that would be nice. Then I wouldn't feel so confused when she talks about the show."

"and give me an excuse to actually sociallize without shocking people into heart attacks..." i said simply

"...Might I ask how you shock people into heart attacks?"

".... hes antisocial, to the point where he learned parkour to use the rooftops instead of the street so he could avoid encounters and peoples stares..." Jane said before i could resond, and my face grew red, and i tucking my chin down, where ordinarily my overshirts neck would hide my face

"...Well...thats one way to do it..."

"he wont explain what happened when we were kids, he used to be so full of ener-" she said before i suddenly got up and walked off, heading for the laundry room where i took my turn of locking the door

"-gy... and now everytime someone brings up his childhood, he gets even worse..." Jane said with a sigh

"...Well, maybe it'll just take time...It must be really bad if he cant bring himself to talk about it."

".... his adopted sister always said the same thing... but he left home at 14, and has been going for himself alone since then.... all i know is it involved his mother."

"...Wow, a noodle incident, huh?"

"what does that mean?" Jane asked, slightly confused, and sighed "anyways, after whatever happened, he stopped showing up to school unless it was with his sister... they transfered him into her classes so she could keep him calm, as he would begin to panic when she wasnt nearby... he wouldnt even speak to me when he came back... then 3 years later, she died due to a mugging, when he was asleep, she had gone to get groceries, and he hadnt left the house for awhile... so i checked on him, left him food at the door, did what i could, but he changed for the worse... he ended up coming back to highschool, and his eyes were totally different... they were the eyes of someone that wasnt him, but was at the same time... he actually spoke to me once, and smiled a strange smile, and then patted my hair like his sister used to, and then went silent for the rest of highschool... drove all the girls insane, myself included, because he is pretty cute... but he wouldnt do anything social, unless you could count him getting into fights with everyone outside of school... i always assumed that it was because he didnt want to get hurt anymore, so he cut himself off from everything... if it had been me here instead of you at first, he wouldnt have been so kind to you had our places been swapped... see, your the one lifeline he has right now, and im quite jelouse... you managed to do something that an entire school couldnt do... his old friends stopped trying to talk to him years ago on account that he would only grunt, and turn away... he is the only one that knows what happened, but he wont tell me, and he still has to go to therapy every 2 weeks...." Jane sighed, sniffling a bit

"Thats terribly sad," I said quietly. "But still, its not like he'll open all of a sudden to me. Id rather not bother him about that; after all, we have to focus on work so we can leave and carry on with our lives, and now wouldn't be a good time to bring up something like that."

"yeah.... say, would you mind letting me help translate?"

"...Its really complicated work, its not something you can pick up in an hour..."

"well, with our idiot boy and how often he gets injured or leaves ill have to do something to help us get out of here.... why not ask him to put togeather some sort of programe that will translate the pages by scanning them? you know, you figure out the meaning of each character, then scan in the page and it will translate pages at a time, and then just leave it to the computer, then fix errors along the way?" she asked, giving it some thought

"...That could work. It would make everything so much faster, Ill ask him."
