First meeting

"and on that side note... anyone up for games?" i asked, walking back into the room with a tired sigh, eyeing the both of them warily, unsure of what had just happened

I stopped. "A game would be nice...just let me get something to drink, something sweet..." I continued into the kitchen.

"drink mix, top shelf, 3rd cabnet from the left, right hand side..." i said as i sat down in the center of the room, across from Jane

"Thank you~"

"not a problem... i like the kitchen organized.... now... do you know of the game called war?" i asked loudly, so she could still hear me in the kitchen

"War? As in the card game?"

"yes..." i said, and was happy to see that Jane was confused, and leaned back against the couch "ever play it often?"

"No, I was mainly a spectator. I'd like to play though."

"good, looks like we will have to train Jane though..." i said, nodding at her in a way that let her know that i would get the game set up as she taught Jane

I looked at Jane. "You never played or watched this game before?" I was a bit surprised.

"dont have many friends who play card games, and those that do are far away..." she said with a slight groan, embaressed now

"...Didnt they ever play card games at your school?" I asked, wondering if she spent her whole life sheltered from card games.

"private school's dont allow them, and the girls were all stuck up..." she said, getting more embarressed

"Not even in secret they played? Damn, thats sad..." Being in a private school sucks too...they enforce the wrong rules...

"part of the reason i left... most girls were stuck up... you were mild compaired to them..." i said, waving my hand as i got up to get a drink myself, and continued "i do kinda feel bad about not bringing it up before i left... wasnt specifically you that set me off, it was a build up of things... yours just happened to be the last..." i said with a grunt, making a effort to try and apologize and explain to her and looked away "you teach her, i gotta go get a pillow for my back..."

Jane was slackjawed for a moment, having never heard me direct so many words toward her in a way that wasnt mean or rejecting her, and followed me wordlessly befor swallowing "d-d-damn, what did you tell him? he never talks like that... boy barely says 3 words to anyone..."

"...What do you mean?" I asked, perplexed. " I didnt say anything."

"he is irritated by me, so cant be me, so i figured you had said something about being mean to me... hell, getting him to speak his mind is harder than starting a war between north and south Korea..."

...Did I say anything? "He didn't seem that way when I met him..."

"well, from what i understand from the people who kidnapped me were saying, you two were part of an online forum, and have worked togeather before... he trusts you... he is trying... my guess was he is trying to impress you or something..." she said with slight irritation, and i walked in "id go with or something... what are we talkin about?"

"...Not being impressed?"

"ill just take it as girl talk... anyways..." i grunted, my demeanor changing just a enought to be slightly noticeable as i got a large glass of the drink mix and sat down, sighing "damnit, i miss the coffee maker...."

"...You know what? I wanna build a house of cards," I said, suddenly changing the subject.

"feel free... im not any good at it, ill watch you..." i said with a slight smile, slidding the deck of cards to her

"Well, I can only manage about 3 levels before it collapses..." I said meekly.

"teach us, and ill help after it does so..." i said with a yawn, leaning back
