The Wizards Assistant closed

"You...truly dont think im a pain?" I asked. I felt a bit tingly as I asked, I wasnt sure if it was because I was nervous or because of the strength of the spell.

"no, i do not think you a pain, nor a burden, or any other form of the words... i wouldnt have chosen you if i thought you would have been a pain, i chose you because your a kind understanding woman that i hope one day can see how i feel about you, but reflect those feelings as well... you are a powerful person, you have control over things that took me years to learn, you are an amazing person, and i am blessed to even have met you..." i said with a honest smile, something that was really rare and genuine

I was stunned into silence. A few times I tried to speak, but couldn't form the words. I could barely end the spell. In the end, my emotions ended up mixing together and I just stood there, as if I had no idea what to say or do. I held back the urge to start crying like a little kid, though.

"come here... let it out...." i said, holding my arms open quietly, seeing she was trying to hold it back

I just rushed into his arms without thinking too much about it, sobbing quietly. I was shaking. It was a bit unnatural to me, since I never really had anyone to comfort me when I cried. My friends werent all that close, and my dad wasnt really a comforting person. This guy was, and he didn't consider me a pain, which ebbed the crying a bit.

"...." i nodded and began rubbing her back comfortingly, waiting paitently for her to let her cry herself out

'...Now I envy people who had people to comfort them, like parents that did parent things...' I thought to myself, my crying subsiding as I began to relax. '...This makes you feel...safe. Just...' "...safe..." I unintentionally whispered.

"if thats what you wish, that is what i will do my best to do for you, is keep you safe and warm and happy..." i whispered back, still playing with her hair in a way that felt familiar, although at the same time wrong, like she was to large, and shook off the feeling, focusing on her instead

I gently pulled away a bit, wiping away the remnants of my tears. Then blushed, since I was a bit embarrassed that I had clung to someone I barely knew for comfort. "...T-thank you...for comforting me..." I said softly. "Im not used to it, especially from...guys, like you, so if I get stiff if you show me affection or something its just because im not used to it...just so you know."

"and ill take that as a hint that i need to go a bit slower..." i nodded and smiled gentally "if you ever need to talk, or just want to vent about something, im here for you... even if you feel furious with me, you can rant to me and tell me what i did wrong..."

"Nice to know I have someone who'll always be there for comfort." I smiled. "Well. I still get to learn new spells, right?"

"yeah, but beware, i wont go easy on you... i would prefer you survive, so first we need to work on your strength, then you can continue on your way with learning spells... youll catch on in no time"

"Yes sir! Im up for anything you throw at me!"

"go fill up that tub then, we need to see how long you can hold it there..." i said gentally, standing up tiredly and walking out to the living room with her

I proceeded to fill the tub, as he had told me.

"....." i nodded after awhile when i noticed she had began to sweat and smiled, clapping "well done, youve beaten the record i had when i started training... i must say, for being untrained, you have amazing amounts of talent for magic..."

I smiled. "Maybe because I started later? Learning this I mean?"

"nah, occasionally someone will pop up with abundant talent for this... you should have been able to summon your artriarc for about 6 months AFTER we started due to power restrictions..." i said with a nod, fininishing my speech "alright, you can stop now, i also now have a good grasp of your talents...."

I ended the spell, realizing how tired I felt. "Wow. To think im good at something good for once."

"all you have to do is put your mind to it... come on, lets go eat, we both need to rest.... lets take a break from magic and begin alchemy... if you want that is"

"Alchemy?" I asked, following him. "Theres a difference between magic and alchemy?"

"alchemy uses potions to acheive the effects of magic... or give a magic user more energy or change traits of a person"

"Traits? As in personality wise or physical appearance? Also, can you bring things to life, even if they kinda dont exist in the real world?"

"Physical, and to your second question, give me an example, as your wording is confusing me..." i said with a chuckle

"Um...Say cats didnt exist. But someone came up with the concept of the cat. Would I be able to make a cat exist using alchemy?"
