The Most Wonderful Time of the Year? open

"Roof, Gonna see the Cityscape..." I said simply, taking her hand and guiding her gently towards the edge, where a chain link fence kept people from falling over the edge

"...It's not as smoggy as I thought it would be..."

"Thats because up here they have air purifier's so that you can see things better, and so planes can land properly..." I responded quietly, releasing her hand and folding my arms as i slouched a bit

"...That's pretty advanced," I answered.
(Hey, does this site give you virus pop-ups? It's been doing that to me lately...)

(Used to, doesnt anymore though.)

"Thats why we are here. We are trying to make a contract with this man, in order to bring some of this innovation to the U.S." I said quietly, leaning against one of the walls nearby

(Did you do anything, or did it just go away on its own?)
I nodded. "I can think of a few places that need it. How long have they been able to do this?"

"This is within the last 2 years. They perfected it earlier this year." I said simply, enjoying the view now

(I think it went away on its own)

"Well, at least it's nice to know you can enjoy the view without worrying about suffocating..."

"Well, you do that to me on a regular basis to be fair." I said smoothly, pausing at the random words that had left my mouth without thinking

"...what?" I turned, slightly confused as to what he meant.

"I'm saying, you take my breath away..." I said simply, deciding to just let it out, knowing she would figure out anyways

"Oh. I. Um." I laughed. "I mean, I'm aware of that, it's just curious that you've vocalized that."

"It's either be open and just let it out with you, or hide it and irritate you as you try and figure it out..." I said simply, walking over to her while looking out to city, stopping after I was just a foot away

"Figure it out? What is there to figure?" I asked, tilted my head, perplexed.

"how to get me to stop hiding stuff from ya." I said simply, looking over at her for a moment

"Just because I can't read minds doesn't mean you can truly hide things from me. Plus you're pretty much an open book," I said, shrugging with a 'not much you can do about it,' expression.

"You can sense emotions and when people are hiding things. Not specifics. Thats what i ment by the hiding comment." I said simply, crossing my arms in front of me now

"I also said you're an open book. Try as you might, you aren't all that good at hiding your thoughts," I sighed, looking back at the view. "I'm thankful you don't try to harm me for not seeing you more as a friend."

(i have no idea what she just said, the words confused me...)
"There is nothing to be gained from hurting others... And i hide more than you seem to think..." I said simply, a sly smile on my face

(Just roll with it, it seems you got an idea [plus I don't quite remember where I was going with this myself. I was tired. I don't remember how to express myself.])

"Oh dear..." Was my answer, as I tried to hide an amused grin, "hopefully it's not something that will affect me in the future..."

"Well of course it affects you in some manner. Not negatively thats for sure. Just how it affects you however, is up to you and your reactions...." I said simply, my eyes traveling slowly from building to building

"Is that so? That piques curiosity. Too bad I don't get specifics, I want to know now."

"All good things in time, all good things in time. Remember, nothing good comes from rushing. Besides, one of these days you may suddenly fall madly in love with me..." I laughed lightly, a twinge of nervous energy appearing, then settling down a bit. "In all seriousness, do i seriously seem that likely to attempt something like harming you because you dont like me as much as id like you to?"

I couldn't hide my surprise, before the smile twitching at the corners of my mouth gave way and I laughed as well, hoping that his nervousness didn't linger, which, thank God, didnt- they left on their own, almost. "No, I suppose not, all things considered."

"What things were considered, if i may ask?" I said after a moment of silence, both of us having calmed down to a reasonable level
