First meeting

I simply laughed, pushing away slightly so I could eat.

"so, how do you feel about all the crap thats happened?" i asked curiously

"I...well...I guess I like the current situation better than where we were at. You know, we're more free," I said, stirring the food around a bit. "But overall...its pretty mixed, to tell you the truth."

"tell me about it...." i said with a light sigh, and looked up at the sky "at home i at least knew the process of things... here i know nothing"

"We'll get used to it. At some point. Humans are very adaptable creatures- id say the most adaptable, but we're not exactly in the vicinity of earth..."

"id say we are in the middle of BFE...." i nodded, eating a bit more of my food

"BFE? Whats that?" I asked, ceasing to mess with my food.

"butt fucking egypt... means we have no idea where we are...," i said, cracking a smile again

".............PFFFFFT-" I started to laugh uncontrollably. "Who the hell comes up with these things!?"

"the internet back on earth... i frequented forums alot..." i laughed as well

"Damn, people come up with weird stuff," I said after I calmed down a bit

"you obviously never saw 4chan.com back when it was popular... ive seen things that would turn black people white...." i smiled lightly, eating the last little bit of my food

"...Ive heard of 4chan...but I never went on it because I only knew about the /b/ board because one of my friends was on that all the time. He was weird- pretty much lead the unofficial hentai subgroup in the anime club."

"weird... yeah, thats rule #43 of the internet, we dont talk about /b/...." i said, taking a sip of my drink and glanced down at it simply "tastes kinda like stale dr pepper"

"...How would you know what stale dr pepper tastes like?"

"long nights and lots of programming...." i said simply, and smiled lightly "quite a few were workin with you...."

"Did you like, survive off of Dr pepper for days? I had a mini fridge next to my main computer, gave me options other than stale soda," I said with a goofy amused look.

"i had a minifridge next to mine as well, but i dont like going outside... at most, i would survive off that and delivery of food from the chinese shop down the road..." i said simply, and smiled "i am a weirdo, but im all yours...."

"Yeah, good thing you didnt die from a vitamin deficiency before I ever got the chance to meet you in person..."

".... i took my supplements like a good kid... i am not one to die sitting down... if i go out, i wanna go out swingin"

"...Like a monkey?" I said, with a straight face that lasted only seconds before I giggled, "I kid, I kid, dont be mad..."

"im not, in fact, monkeys are what inspired me to learn parkour...." i said, and paused when i noticed a girl stareing at me from across the room out of the courner of my eye and stopped speaking "11 oclock from my angle, there is a girl stareing at me... try not to scare her, i think she might have something to say...after she speaks, if you dont like it, you can snap at her if you would like..." i said, noting that she stood up and was heading over here

Well that would be the only reason she'd come over, wouldn't it? I thought, retaining a neutral stare as she came over.

"....h-hey, are you guys the ones who just came into port?" she asked, fidgeting, and i nodded to which she lit up and took my hand to my surprise, and i backed up a bit "would you guys take me with you? i want to be an engineer, but the engineer core here wont accept girls...." she asked, pointing at the engineer insignia on my shoulder, and i looked at her with a weak smile "not up to me, ask the captain... we are still learning ourself...."

"Well, she did say we lack in staff..." I said, thinking about it. "But just so you know, he's already taken and he doesn't practice polygamy, else that would result in a terminated relationship. Anyway, back to your issue- we probably wont be able to get back to you until much later, maybe tomorrow, but im sure Captain wont mind."
