First meeting

"...." after finishing my food, i set my plate on the table, and yawned "anythin ya want to do? or do you wanna head back to the ship before the newbies decide to go tinker with the engine containment feilds?" i asked

"Is that whats been bothering you this whole time, at least in the back of your mind? I know you adopted it as your baby, but still..."

"it was a joke, hasnt been on my mind until just now, and even then was fleeting... today and yesterday were for you, and you alone...." i said with a slightly serious tone, but letting her know i wasnt angry or anything, just stating the truth. "i wouldnt be much of a boyfriend if i didnt pay attention to just you on our dates..."

"I was worried you were being serious. Good we're both joking here," I said, slightly relieved. At least he's not those guys that actually adopt their work as their baby. Yaaaay, IM his baby. Imma soak up the attention like a conceeded narsisist now, I smiled in spite of myself.

"yeah, ship is the third thing i think about, food is second, your first..." i said seriously, and yawned, closing my eyes to rest

"Where do you rank your well being?"

"currently at 5 on the list... 4 is making sure im not injured and havent been robbed...." i said simply, and took a drink from my cup, still leaning back on my chair

"...Well, at least im going to be the one who tries to make sure youre okay. Unless you go into tomato mode. I will abuse tomato mode."

"you always do that..." i said with a slight smile, and sighed a bit "these sounds... so similar to home...."

"It just cant be emphasised enough, the familiarity is both comforting and jarring," I pushed my last bit of food around. "Very few things are thuroughly comforting."

"Cuddle time sure is one of those times... for me at least..." i said with a grin, my face a bit red, but i laughed and ate the last bite of food on my plate, and ran a hand through my hair "i have some money left if you wanna go shopping, i need to get myself some new outfits, and you have a fare bit of cash in your account as well..." i said with a yawn, unsure if she was the kind of girl that liked to shop

"It would be good to get some new clothes..."

"come on then...." i said, removing my feet from the railing and began cleaning up our mess

"Wheres this place again?"

i ran a hand through my hair and checked my map again, and held it out to her, spining around the hologram so it would make sence to her, and spoke up "on the way to the ship, bout the equivilant of 3 to 6 of our city blocks..." i said with a glance around, and started walking again, not wanting to be in the same place for to long, my old habits kicking in

I glanced around as well. "Whats wrong?"

"old habits die hard... whenever im in a new location or town, i turn into what an old aquantance of mine would call a trapped beast... im sure its nothing, but the new setting, while nice, does kinda set me on edge... i dont like staying in one place for to long unless its home to me...."

"Thatll be an old habit to break out of, wont it..." I sighed.

"a wise man once said all good things come with time..." i said simply, and smiled apologetically at her "im making progress from when we first met, arent i?" i asked, hopeing i had

"Yeah, I guess. So far you haven't threatened anyone that has crossed your line of vision and acted in a suspicious manner."

".... i wasnt that vicious... i just ignored everyone and put them off with my aura... and what do you mean by sucipcious?" i asked, a little hurt, but hid it as well as i could behind my usual expression

"I dont know. Just suspicious," I shrugged, not noticing I had hurt him.

".... come on, lets go do this then..." i said with a smile, a little weaker than before, and began walking towards the clothing store, her words in my mind

"Ooh, some of the stuff on display is pretty!" I exclaimed cheerfully as the store came into view.

"go ahead and try your cloths on first, ill wait... im sure those cloths will look better on you then the stands they are on...."
