The Most Wonderful Time of the Year? open

"you cant quit drinking in a day, ive been trying for awhile myself..." i said simply, setting the bottle in my hand down lightly on the table, and began carving up the turkey quietly ".... did you cook this yourself?"

"Um...yeah. Its simple, just lemon spice or whatever. I forget what recipe I looked up."

"looks really good..." i said simply, taking a leg and putting it on a plate for her and got the other one for myself

I nodded, an awkward silence filling the room.

".... even if you did look up the recipe, you did really well at cooking it... and the sandwich's are amazing as well... been awhile since ive had food like this..." i said quietly, looking at her directly as i said it, and looked down to pick up my drumstick again

"Yeah, once you cook for a while, the food starts tasting good..."

"..... i dont think i could ever cook like this..." i said after while, and looked at her "you dont have to stay you know... you can go lock the door in my sisters room and pass out till your sober, or somethin like that...." i said quietly, getting up and going to tap the door to my room closed, sincing at the Chaos that i had caused, and went back to the couch quietly, laying down as i ate my food, my plate sitting on my chest

"...I dont feel like moving. Beer must make me lazy." I thought for a moment. "Its probably hereditary. My dad would sit in the same place for days, or until he sobered up some."

"im the same way...." i said simply, curling up near a pillow, almost snuggling it to death with my grip

I leaned back. "Maybe I shouldnt have drunk so much..."

"eh, youll live... even you of all people need to let loose every once and awhile... it makes things easier to deal with... for example, you see everyone treating you different, but i see everything as an obstacle to overcome, that they are afraid of your progress.... your an amazing woman... your parents are very proud of you..." i said simply, my voice drawling a bit

I chuckled. "I guess my dad's glad I ended up like I did and not...uncontrollably crazy."

"i dont know about crazy, but i dont think anyone could control you... your to proud for that..." ii said simply, my eyes waundering around the room lazily

"Youre absolutely right. I can become a force to be reakoned with. When you met me, I was in chill mode. It is just not... Its been beheld so rarely that the people who have beheld it now possess an irrational fear towards me."

"....." i sighed a bit, covering myself with a blanket "imma take a nap for a bit, do whatever you want, just dont harm me or the house..."

"Oh, dont worry about it," I said, not moving from my general position.

"....." i nodded off quickly, mumbleing things quietly into my pillow

He talks in his sleep... I took off my shoes, standing up quietly- albeit a little awkwardly due to being a tad tipsy still- taking the beer bottles and leftover food to the kitchen, storing it away. ...I wonder if I can unlock his bedroom... I managed to make it to his bedroom without falling, digging for a pin or something...Wait. He has keys. I rolled my eyes, scolding myself as I walked back, trying to find the keys.

"....." i mumbled and turned over, the keys falling out of my pocket and onto the floor next to me, and i tucked myself tighter into the courner of the couch, my ball even tighter than it had been earlier

I grinned mischievously, taking the keys and heading back to his bedroom to see the mess for myself.

as she unlocked the door, the mess was pushed back by the door, items and clothing falling out of the usually spotlessly organized closet, the drawers on the floor in a courner, their contents sitting messily inside the containers. the bed was a mess, some things looking like an animal had attempted to rip them, and gave up to do in something easier, while the curtains blew sligthly in the breeze from the cracked window. picture frames were tossed in the courner, as though i had been searching desperately for something, and the Electronics could be seen poking out from the closet under the cloths. the only thing left untouched was a picture of an older girl and me, grown up, and then a smaller one with an insert of the two, presumebly as children, playing in the water at a pond in the middle of a feild.

I walked over the mess, carefully taking the untouched frame. She's quite pretty. Its always the good ones who go first... I sighed. At least she rests now...too bad her brother is restless... I felt the annoying need to clean, giving in within seconds, shaking the clothes and putting them on the bed, picking up his electronics and pieces of glass, putting them on his nightstand and trash bin, respectively. After the floor was cleaned of delicate or hazardous objects, I started organizing his closet to the best of my ability, hoping it looked somewhat close to how he organized it, assuming the clothes in there was clean and hoping I didnt find porn or anything under the mess in his closet.

"......" i mumbled and turned over and yawned, falling back asleep, and slowly untensed from my ball

as she cleaned, little bits and peice's of artwork that had been hanging on the walls started showing up, one a drawing of a forest, one of the school, one of the sister which was laying near the untouched picture frame, another of an older woman, with the signiture of K. Huma, for H. Huma. after she had the closet and everything in order, a locked box was on the ground with a combolock on the front, but in my angry rage, it had been left unlocked, and inside where knick knacks and toys, and a very nice and expensive looking sketchbook diary that had another lock on it, this one still locked tightly

What caught my attention most was the locked sketchbook diary, probably because its contents were protected by a rather decent lock, not one easily opened by a nail. But maybe one of the keys worked. I started testing out keys, hoping one worked.

after the first few keys, one went in correctly and the book fell open, revealing a small section for a journal entry at the top, with the majority of the space taken up by a white area for drawing, and the date started about 8 years ago, on my birthday. "today Big Sister got me a sketch Diary... the first thing im going to do is learn how to draw better, as thats what she likes the most of my talents..." it said, revealing a rather simple but good drawing of what seemed to be a girl in a chair that appeared to be identacle in traits to the one in the front room, with a small color pallet made with colored pencil's to the side trying to blend colors to get the right ones, but it seemed like i had given up. as it went on, the entries got alot more detailed in the drawings, but more depressing as it talked about how my father was attempting to use every minute i had to turn me into a perfect child, instead of the rebelious older sister, and how i felt envious of her, being able to go out wherever she wanted, while i was only able to see her on weekends, to the fact that i was brutally bullied, and i wore the uniform some days to cover up the wounds and the bruises from my sister or Ally. the drawings ranged from a scene at the park, to one of a sad boy lookin in the mirror with the book in his hands, with light tear stains on the page, and one had a picture of Ally on the day that i had decided to take medication, and the next page said "..... seems Allyssa doesnt like my plesent additude... i have decided to give up all romantic pursuits in the area, seeing as she isnt interested in any way... doesnt mean i dont like her still..." and then the last pages seemed to convey emotions i hadnt shown to anyone. of the four, the first showed a beautifully shadded and colored drawing of my sister, even more pretty than the photo, saying ".... Big sister said she had a surprise to give me! i cant wait!" page two said "its been a couple of days since sister has come back..." showing a drawing of what seemed like the first drawing, but with the girl starting to fade. page three showed a sketch of me in front of the mirror again, but further away, in a courner in a room, sobbing quietly as the shadows seemed to move in towards me as it said ".... the police came today... they told me my sister had been raped, beaten, and kept prisoner for a week, before being killed by suffocation.... no point in me trying to fight anything...." and the last page was blank, but the date was prelabeled for the day of the funeral and had the words written in a neat script ".... big sister is being burried to day... i think im the only one that knows her name... all i ever refer to her as is big sister as her name annoys her, reminds her of dads new wife... unless something happens, ill finish the year so that Allyssa Hanafuri can finish her year without being expelled, i know how important her dreams are to her... and comply with fathers wish for me to marry Susan, the rich English girl from london, and move away... she called today and said she was coming to the funeral...."
