"its a pill you take in the morning that gives you the days protein..." i said with a nod, patting his shoulder

Gintoki glanced over at Takeru. The two seemed to be throwing glares at each other.

"Care to explain whats up?" me and john said in unison, looking at our perspective partners

Gintoki stands up. "I'll be right back. Going to the restroom." he said excusing himself from the table. Takeru sighs softly. "He's faking vegetarian and its causing him to get ill. I suppose its all my fault but not sure what I can do now." he mutters. "Back when I was doing 'odd jobs' some of the clients got to stalker level. It was to the point we moved around several times. Though one sent me rare meats from foreign countries. Not knowing they were poisoned Gin ate them. So much that he almost perished. He lost it after that. With the fear of death staring him in the face he did some stupid and crazy things. Kaylee was one of those crazy incidents." he said glancing at her. After that he decided to become hardcore vegan."

"Crazy incedent? what happe-" John began to ask but was silenced from a very serious glare from me and i spoke up "dont ever ask that question... EVER... if you value my happiness..." i said simply, and then turned to Mel with a smile to help her wipe her face, my face not as cheerful as it had been earlier

"Maybe if you cook for him he'll start to stop this crazy vegan thing." Takeru says to Kaylee.

"oh, i plan to, starting tomorrow... i can push his buttons, so i know how to get him to eat..." i said simply, a small smirk on my face as i did so

Gintoki returned to the table with a sigh. Takeru went to eating his food while leaning close to John. He liked the way he can easily blush being at his side.

"hey, Gin... if you want, i could make you all your meals from now on, meat included?"

Gintoki looks at her. "That's so sweet of you but I am a vegetarian so that's not necessary." he said going back to eat his fries. Takeru looked at Kaylee.

"fine..." i said, sighing as i resigned myself to trying again later, and turned back to my food, deciding to let him eat his food in peace

Takeru continued to eat his food without another word. His gaze drifting to his brother every now and again. Gintoki looked at Kaylee before placing a gentle kiss upon her cheek.

"... took ya long enough..." i said with a slight smile, and patted his thigh and winked with a bright red face "n-now now, you have to wait..."

He smiled as he looked at Mel. She was really just too adorable. "It seems our little Mel is enjoying herself." he points out

"yeah..." i said, and took another bite of my steak as i looked over at her "i feel bad for her future boyfriends..."

"There will be no talk of such things. We have to protect our little girl from the insanity that is man." Gintoki said. Takeru chuckled as he heard that line before.

"if anything, we need to protect men from HER... if shes anything like me, she will break hearts left and right... but, if you want to be the dad that sits on the porch with a gun, have fun... jut be sure to bring home dinner..." i smiled, switching into a drawl for it to make it funny

Gintoki couldn't help but laugh. Kaylee was being silly but he caught the point of it all. "Very well sweetheart."

"papa, can you help me cut my food? im having problems..." Mel said, having gotten out of her seat to tug on his shirt

Gintoki looked at her and smiles. "Of course I can. Lets get those all cut up for you." he said happy to help Mel.

"thank you papa!" she giggled, tugging on his sleeve in order for him to follow her to her seat, and she took her place and waited paitently for him to walk up behind her, and i laughed, watching her legs swing freely

Gintoki stood behind her as he then began to cut her food. His gaze drifts over to Kaylee as he smiled.

"stop stareing at me and focus on our daughter you fool..." i smiled, poking Mels nose and watched her giggle hysterically

Gintoki nods as he finished cutting up her food. "There you are sweetie. Now eat up." he said finding her laugh adorable

"only if you give me a hug first..." Mel said, standing up on the chair to get the hug she wanted
