First meeting

"alright, we will be there soon...." i said quietly, and with a swipe, saved my data and closed some windows, then stood up and opened a new window, spinning it to the side of me, so it wouldnt be in my face, and looked at Rei "lets head back" i said, opening up a ship map to our room, still not used to the layout of the ship, and set my project on the table, setting everything in its spot so i could find it again later

"Yessir," I said, slightly distracted by his holograms for some reason. "...You think you can design games into them?"

"its possible.... it would take time...." i said, likeing the thought

"Yay!" I cheered. "Meh! We have to get ready! Lets hurry!"

"you sound just like our captain...." i said, grabbing my jacket, and yawned, and looked at her "ill race you if you want...."

I blushed, embarrassed. "-Uh, er...1 2 3 go!" I dashed off.

"...." i grinned and took off after her, leading over and under obstacles with ease due to my training, and kicked off the wall of a courner to get my speed going to catch up

At some point he caught up to me, and I didn't really feel like losing. Even though I did get a head start...

"...." i smiled, and stayed behind her, and laughed "had me winded for a minute there... your getting better..."

I skidded to a stop from the dining hall. "Helping me cheat wont help much," I laughed. "Next time imma win fair and square, watch."

"maybe if you would ever let me teach you parkour.... trust me, its a blast.... i mean, we do need to train more togeather, as we will probobly be partners in the future, it would be good to know the others advantage's and weakness's"

"Partners as in-"

"What are you pair waiting for? Youre lucky we didn't want to start without you," The Captain exclaimed.

"as in whatever you want to be...." i said simply, walking over with her wrist held by my hand, and sat her down, and went and got us both some food, and walked back and set hers in front of hers, and sat down next to her on the inside, still wary of the crew that wouldnt say much to me, concerned about Rei, and spoke up ".... sorry, was kinda aborbed into a pet project, and got started on the navigation console board someone brought in..."

"Nothing to worry about; didnt keep us waiting for long," The Captain said. "Warning cooks well, doesnt she?"

Despite the time we had been onboard, Warning was just a name connected to Dane (who could switch between being a cat and a human, apparently. He had also lost his hearing recently, and sort of isolated himself from everyone else, so he was rarely seen anyway), and we had yet to formally meet her. [i]"She's pretty shy, and really good at not being seen or hiding herself. You'll meet her, just give her time to gain the nerve to speak to you," Was the Captains answer when I had originally asked about Warning. I started pondering on that again, eating slowly.

"......" i nodded quietly and began eating and jumped when i heard something out in the hall, my head turning slowly to stare at a particular set of eyes hiding in the shadow, and blinked, nodding, having a general feeling of who it was, and turned back to begin eating, ignoring the stares from the others as i spoke up "Warning has the best cooking ive ever tasted besides my own, she cooks better than i do, and i dont even know whats in the food... my methods are old.... maybe if i ever get enough pay ill treat you all to something in my style of cooking.... also, Warning is out in the hall, shes watching us.... she didnt run when i turned around this time, shes getting her fears delt with slowly, but its progress... better than me and my shyness...." i said simply, and went back to eating, ignoring the shock the others had that i had spoken more than 5 syllybles to anyone but the captain and Rei, and took a drink, my eyes sharpening to the taste of the drink as i set it down "and it seems that someone put a little bit of alchole in my drink....."

I immediately turned to look at Warning, only to see no one. Shes gone...then again, she didnt make much noise... "How is she able to just...disappear?"

"For that, you should ask Warning herself- or Dane. He and Toma rescued her, but they didnt tell us much, and shes very shy, even with us. All I know is that she can just vanish into thin air, but aside from that, next to nothing." She looked over at Neku. "One of the mates mustve put the beverages into the wrong dispensers..."

"..... im not allowed to drink on the job.... tell me, what are the rules involving alchole and minors? and why is it she lets me see her, yet when anyone else turns to her, she vanish's? i mean, i can hear her prowling through the ship, for example, i know shes heading towards the 3rd door on the left one deck above us..." i said, and on que, the door clunked close, and i grunted "but its much closer than that sometimes... i mean, im generally fine with people following me, but the way she does it kinda creeps me out, since my sences have been amplified due to training, i can detect her no matter how she hides for the most part..." i said, deep in thought as i spoke, my hand automatically pulling up recordings of such events "one time i was down in the cargo holds, creepy ass place by the way, even for me, and i noticed her up there, taking a nap... but as soon as i turned away, her eyes opened and watched me the whole time, like she was gaurding me.... or something else..."

"Minors? What are you, 12? Anyways, you can drink since the age of 16- though its heavily restricted until 18." She listened to his story about the cargo holds area, before bursting into laughter. "Goodness, you scared the poor girl! And she doesnt seem to be able to vanish if she falls asleep for a few moments."

"Now that I think about it..." Nyell began, "I find it curious she is she lived so long on The isles, despite the fact shes the lightest albino ive ever seen..."

"The isles?"

"Very hot place, down near the tropica region. Movi got a sunburn in 15 minutes, yet Warning had been there for who knows how long, and she has the lightest skin youve ever seen! But shes cute, such lovely, soft blue eyes. Like a child. And her white hair! So...healthy feeling, its amazing..." Nyell started spazzing out. She had a thing for soft hair.

"I have no idea how Dane got her to be his wife..." The Captain said, now in deep thought. Everyone else seemed to do the same.

"where we come from, you cant drink till 21...." i said, picking up the drink again and taking a sip... "still doesnt explain why she follows me through the halls... i hear everything on this ship, every creak and moan... she doesnt follow anyone other than Dane, and thats the most of the time... but when he is busy, i can feel her eyes on me, and it creeps me out... not trying to be mean, but you have to relize, where i come from, i was regularly attacked by girls who did similar things...." i said simply, and interlocked my fingers as i read some readouts of the ship "granted, she has helped me without me knowing it at the time... sometimes ill look up, and a snack will be on my desk, or ill be looking for something, and it will end up in the doorway... i just wished i could get her to talk to me... i feel we have alot in common, and we would be great freinds... also, side notes, before i forget to bring them up again, Captain, there seems to be a water leak in your room, its leaking into the compartment walls next to you, in food storage... and the engines are in need of repair, so at next dock, we need to power down the ship so i can do some repairs to it, and swap out the navigation cores so they are up to date... the current ones we have are almost dead, and dont even get me started on the weapons systems.... the primarry fusion coils are worn down to the bone.... most of these are things im in the middle of fixing, or have fixed as much as i can without the ship being offline for awhile, but the engines concern me the worst... if i have about 2 days, i can get the engines, navigation cores, and leaks.... weapon systems, i will need parts that we dont have in storage... ive sent you an ship message with details on what we need... you all might as well take shore leave while i get our ship puring like a kitten..." i said simply, and looked over at Rei "you as well.... im sure even you need space from me, and it will give you a chance to get to know the others well...." i said simply, and looked at the captain and looked back down at another incoming message "and it seems that.... the ships operating system is old and degrading, so ill need another day to fix up the code behind that as well...."

The Captain nodded. "Ill look at what is needed after dinner."

I nodded as well. "It would be nice to kinda get to know everyone else better..."

"....." i powered down the screens and looked behind me again, feeling something there, but nothing was there, and turned back to my food tiredly

"Well," I said, after quickly finishing me meal, "Im going to go walk around a bit."

"okay, let me know if you need anything...." i said, calling after her, still having a bit of food to finish up

"Okay~" I said, humming as I walked.

"....." i nodded to them and grunted "going to finish up the repair jobs i have today, and then imma train if any of you need me..."
