A Broken Wing mature* (OPEN)

Havi chuckled lightly as he looked at her. "You are too sweet. How could someone like you have been in such a house like that? It's impressive you are not a mess. I wonder how you do it." he said softly.

"My father would tell me that im more like mum, but im afraid I cant compare to her. She died when I was pretty young, but she left me a journal with lots of advice, stories, and as much emotion she could put into words. I brought it with me." Ao went over to the small bundle of possessions they had brought along, pulling out a hidden, and rather simple looking, leatherbound journal, that had a simple turn lock to open. It looked like it had around 200 pages, that were slightly yellowed with age, but the book was otherwise in good conditions. She started walking back to Havi. "Ive memorized nearly every part of this, but theres a leather divider zipped to the inside cover that hides the last 20 pages or so and says 'Dont read until you have a boyfriend'. I couldnt leave it behind forever- aside from the fact this is mum in 'book form', I really want to know what this says." She sat back down next to Havi, sighing softly. "This, along with other books and the fact I kept mostly to myself is probably why im more like mum than like my Father and Uncle."

Havi listened to her as he watched Ao take out the book. "Its very interesting to hear such a thing. Most children don't try to figure out who their parents are or were after they pass. They grieve for a while and then focus on what they can see and grasp before them. You are truly amazing."

"Well, how many kids do you know lived my life? Plus I was lonely, so reading this book over and over made me feel better. This I could see and grasp, so it was good enough for me."

"There are many who have lived lifestyles almost similar to yours. Yet none ever managed to stay as normal minded as you." Havi said

"So...does that make me strange?" Ao asked, after thinking about what he said for a few minutes.

"It's strange in a good way. It means someone like you isn't easily corrupted by the things around you." Havi said.

"Oh, then that is good," she smiled, leaning onto Havi. "So, how long are we going to stay here?"

"We will move from here later in the morning after finding something to eat. Then we will search for a permanent place to call home and stay there. This way we can live normally." Havi said

"Live... normally? Youre probably referring to what you consider normal. Even if I was brought up under strange circumstances, that was pretty normal to me."

Havi looked at her. "When I say normally I only mean without fear. Life is not something one can consider normal as there are many different paths one can take. Though considering where we left from, it would be normal not having that bit of fear around haunting us." he said

Ao nodded in agreement. " I say we go look for something to eat, then."

Havi looked at Ao with a small chuckle. "I am guessing you are hungry then. Shall we head out now or wait a little while longer before leaving?" he asked her

"Um....I want to eat now. I also want to know what kind of food they have here."

Havi stood up and walked over to her. "Very well then. Lets leave and find you something to eat. Then we can find ourselves a place to call home." he said

"Okay!" She answered, skipping over to the door.

Havi went back a little and fixed up the room as it was before. He then followed Ao out the room and down the hall. He walked outside with her seeing the bright sunlight. "I wonder where we can grab a bite to eat."

She blinked, looking around. " There ought to be a place around here that serves food."

Havi walked beside her as they went more into the town. He soon smelt a delicious scent of fresh baked bread. "I think it's this way. Follow and stay close by Ao." he said softly

She grabbed his sleeve obediently, wondering where he would be taking her, until they made it to a bakery. "Oh wow! That stuff looks so good!" She pressed her face against the giant window gleefully, resembling a small child in her antics.

"Lets head inside so you can get something to eat." he said in a gentle tone. Havi was feeling slightly hungry himself. He wonders exactly what they could get that would taste good.

Ao nodded again, heading inside and scanning the options with her eyes. The glass displays were slightly fogged by the steam released, which only made the bread and other baked goods more mouthwatering. "Havi, what do we pick?"

Havi watched Ao as she looked at everything. "You can pick anything you want. I will get it for you. As long as you will enjoy it." he said said softly. He was deciding from the sweet bread or a muffin.

"Can I have a cinnamon sweet roll, then?" She said, pointing at the glazed pastries.

Havi nods as he moved towards the cash register. "Is that the only one you wish for? You can also pick something to drink as well." he said
