Polar opposite

I sat down when I heard her. Chuckling a bit I answer, "It's alright to ask me that. Its not like I've been ask like that before..." I joke when I continued on. "Yes. It has always been like that. He comes home all drunk then start throwing things around..." I said lightly while rubbing the back of my neck. "But don't worry he probably wont be home until later..." I said while assuring her.

"....And you just....put up with it always? By yourself? I would never do that. Id ditch. I dont want to get hurt by someone who is supposed to not be doing that..."

"Eh I can't really do much about it since. He became like this after my mother passed away so there's nothing I can do, really.." I said to her and sigh softly.

"You still couldve left...youre old enough to pretty much do that now."

"Well not really. If I were to leave then my father would be alone. That is the only thing that keeps me here. If he isn't here, then I would of have been gone. I wouldn't even have met you considering us going to the same school..." I said to her and sigh softly.

"...I suppose that justifies it a bit..." I sighed.

"Yup..." I reply back with a smile on.

"...I wonder why my brothers haven't called yet...it shouldnt take them so long..." I suddenly went pale. "Oh no! What if they had an accident!?" I jumped up, shaken.

I saw the look on her face when I told her, "I don't think its a good idea to be saying that, Miki. Just wait a little longer. Maybe they forgotten to let you know that they were going somewhere..." I said to her as I try my best to persuade her.

"B-but what if theyre in trouble or something!?" I said frantically.

"Call them to see where they're at. If we can't get a hold of them, we can go search for them..." I said to her.

I called them twice. They didn't answer. I started to cry.

I waited for her to call and when she did, I notice that tears were beginning to form at the tip of her eyelids. "Hey, don't cry. Just stay the night here in my room. I'll sleep down here and maybe well try again tomorrow or something..." I said to her trying to comfort her as I hug her.

I continued crying for about 10 minutes until I calmed down. "...M...maybe they're okay. Its jus...ive been jumpy since...the incident..." I hiccuped. I wiped away the tears. "...Im sorry. Im getting...worked up for nothing...crying like a child..."

"Don't worry. I can assure you that they'll be fine and maybe they're kind of worry about you too considering what you just said about being jumpy an all...Come on, I'll take you to my room. Its a lot safer there than down here.." I said when I took her by the hand and leading her to my room.

I simply allowed him to take me to his room; I was starting to feel worn out, anyways.

After taking her to my room, I opened up to find my bedroom nice and clean. "Go head and sleep on the bed. I'll keep an eye out and I'll try to call your brothers..." I said to her.

"I...I dont think id be able to sleep. I feel so worried..." I said, sitting on the bed.

"Don't worry. You can stay here and I'll go search for them alright?" I said assuring her.

"...Do...you have anything I can hug, like a stuffed animal or something? When im worried I need to hug something like a stuffed animal. Or one of my brothers, but since they're not...here..." My voice trailed off. "But I doubt you have something like that...so i'll just...wait here till the exhaustion gets the better of me..."
